Abstract: This essay examines the symbolic role of the Mediterranean as a bulwark against Nazi-fascist dictatorships. At first it focuses on the opposition between dry and wet theorized by Littell, then analyzing the work by Roberto Bolaño, it analyses the Mediterranean as the opposite of Nazism, and at the end we come to the myth of Salamina told by Cercas as a metaphor of resistance against fascism.
