The archaeological and epigraphic history of ancient Beira / Bazira (identified in today’s Barikot in Swat), read in the light of Greek ethnography on India, allows us to witness the presence of a rich local multi-ethnic society, that must have experienced a revival phase of Hellenism in the Indo-Greek period.
