Abstract
The walls of young heroes From the 1880s, italian universities began to pay epigraphic and sometimes monumental tributes to students who fell in national wars. The large number of university students who fell in the First World War multiplied the rhetoric in universities that celebrated them as the vanguard of a heroic nation. Fascism adds to these objects of memory a glorification of the squadristi students. Since the 1930s, the University of Padua has become a privileged place where authorities initiate ostentatious aesthetic elaborations of the student fascist war heroism. The war crisis of the regime undermines the logic of these ideological images projected on the paduan students, many of whom become militants in the anti-fascist Resistance.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
