The paper is a critical notice on Pierre Steiner’s book, Désaturer l’esprit. Usages du pragmatism, engaging with the possibility of holding together two different “adverbialist” strategies. On the one side, a deflationary approach to the mind derived from Wittgenstein (and from Rorty), centered on differences among vocabularies; on the other side, Dewey’s overt and positive cultural-naturalistic stance towards the mental, assumed as a specific mode of interaction between human organisms and their natural and naturally socio-cultural environment.

Abstract
The paper is a critical notice on Pierre Steiner’s book, Désaturer l’esprit. Usages du pragmatism, engaging with the possibility of holding together two different “adverbialist” strategies. On the one side, a deflationary approach to the mind derived from Wittgenstein (and from Rorty), centered on differences among vocabularies; on the other side, Dewey’s overt and positive cultural-naturalistic stance towards the mental, assumed as a specific mode of interaction between human organisms and their natural and naturally socio-cultural environment.File in questo prodotto:
