This paper investigates the progressive granting of a role for women of the Domus Augusta in the triumph. Starting from an episode mentioned by Pliny, Suetonius and Cassius Dio, concerning an omen in which Livia, dunng a stay in the villa at Gallinas Albas, received in her lap a hen and a laurel branch, this research intends to investigate the ways in which Augustus after the 19 BC ensured that only members of the Domus Augusta were granted to celebrate the triumph.
