Abstract

The inquire on the nature of borders on the modalities for justify- ing and, inversely, for silencing them, is a widely spreaded and developed issue throughout Sanskrit philosophical traditions. In these pages, profiting from the exam of a short portion (4,1-6) of Patañjali’s Yogasūtra, it will be shown an unusual way to deal with silence and how the debate concerning the nature of distinctions can benefit from the exam of semio-somatic attributions generated by prescriptive words and performative declarations of status functions. For the authors that we will deal with, once distinctions are eliminated, a silencing gaze directed towards every superimposed images opens wide.
