Microbial communities on the surface of Ulva laetevirens were sampled at three sites in the Lagoon of Venice and sequenced using Illumina® NextSeq 500 platform. Results suggest that U. laetevirens hosts distinct microbial communities that vary according to anthropogenic stressors. The distribution of Amplicon sequences variant assigned to Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes differed between the sampling sites. Several abundant phyla (e.g. Cyanobacteria) displayed considerable temporal variations suggesting that anthropogenic stressors could affect the health and ecology of the host macrophyte.

Abstract
Microbial communities on the surface of Ulva laetevirens were sampled at three sites in the Lagoon of Venice and sequenced using Illumina® NextSeq 500 platform. Results suggest that U. laetevirens hosts distinct microbial communities that vary according to anthropogenic stressors. The distribution of Amplicon sequences variant assigned to Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes differed between the sampling sites. Several abundant phyla (e.g. Cyanobacteria) displayed considerable temporal variations suggesting that anthropogenic stressors could affect the health and ecology of the host macrophyte.File in questo prodotto:
