This work aims to offer a panoramic approach to the first collection of dramatic plays by Calderon, from the point of view of the presence of woman and violence. With these two principal vectors, I examine the function of feminine characters, as well as the range, forms and functions of feminine violence in the twelve plays, with special focus on La gran Cenobia, La devocion de la cruz and La puente de Mantible.
