Abstract
The present work aims to trace a panoramic view of the presence and function of the visigothic element on Cervantes’ work. For that, I will follow the trail of the appearances of gothic characters and episodes on theatre (La Numancia), the Quijote and poetry, which serves as framing to examine the meaning of the evocation of the gothic past of Spain in the Persiles (III, 8), a passage which is meant as a minichorography that replies to the Toledo’s efforts to recover its symbolical power (political and religious), in a new front of conflict with Lope and Avellaneda.File in questo prodotto:
