The "Chinese Dream" is the new expression of contemporary China's top leaders' ideals for the construction of modern Chinese society; it is both a political theory and a new trend in Chinese national discourse. The "Chinese Dream" has profound rhetorical connotations and global significance, projecting China's national values and leading the way for China in the international arena. Analysing the rhetorical construction of this national metaphor can help understanding contemporary China and its role in the global discourse system. This paper attempts to explore the conceptual and cultural significance of the "Chinese Dream" and its role in constructing China's national and global discourse systems from the perspectives of state communication, state rhetoric and state discourse. The paper argues that the "China Dream Theory" embodies the attempt by Chinese political discourse to get closer to public discourse, expanding the discursive space of political discourse among the people, and also reflects the global approach of the top Chinese leaders in the international arena.

Abstract
The paper argues that the "China Dream Theory" embodies the attempt by Chinese political discourse to get closer to public discourse, expanding the discursive space of political discourse among the people, and also reflects the global approach of the top Chinese leaders in the international arena.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
