In Cervantes’ poetry divided in novel and theatre, there are a couple of romances of Cidian inspiration that constitutes an interesting exercise of rewriting, and they link directly with Escobar’s Historia y romancero del Cid. Around these questions, some reflections about the insertion of poems in major works are offered.
