Abstract
The study of a small group of lead tablets from Hellenistic Camarina, containing contracts for the purchase of land or loans, enables us to investigate the use of units of reckoning in this Greek colony. The surviving evidence suggests that the adoption of the system based on talents and litrae at Camarina dates back probably to the sixth century but became widerspread after the Geloan refoundation of 461 B.C.File in questo prodotto:
