The aim of this paper is to explore the practice of being an entrepreneur in the context of performing arts. We try to do this observing the artistic entrepreneurship with a specific focus on the understanding to what extent the artistic practices are not-neutral in relation to entrepreneurial behaviours. This argument is based on the observation that artists, when running their activities as entrepreneurs, face both typical entrepreneurial issues (such as assuming risks and managing people) and creative ones (Recaman and Colbert, 2016). We analyse entrepreneurship through the specific practices of a choreographer leading a vertical dance company based in Venice, considering not even obviously categories like human body, knowledge and art.
