The discovery of a pre-roman bronze shovel at Scaltenigo di Mirano is the occasion for a general reconsideration of the presence of this tool in the Veneto and the drawing up of a map showing distribution of types and uses. An interpretation of the functional and symbolic purposes of these tools is outlined on the basis of the context at which they were fond.
