Data from monitoring of fyke net fishery in the Venice lagoon were used to test for the effects of different human pressures and to disentangle the effect of artisanal fishery on nekton catches. Discarded catches accounted for a minor proportion of total biomass. Alterations of morphology were the most relevant pressures, while fishery had an overall less important effect on nekton fauna.

Abstract
