Serviusʼ commentary to Virgil is one of the most important sources coinceiving Enniusʼ fragments: beside direct quotations of Enniusʼs works, it preserves several references to Ennian hemistichia and uersus. These different witnesses, even though they have been resembled by scholars, need to be reconsidered in order to give a more comprehensive and detailed view of the intertextual relationship between Ennius and Virgil, but also of Serviusʼ analysis of the Virgilian reuse of his sources.
