The present text analyses Ellen Degeneres' viral selfie shot during this year's Academy Awards, examining the role played by the mobile devices to develop a complex and articulate discursive field. Such a field is not only a result of transmedia processes but also of filmophanic, diegetic, and iconic-configurative dynamics that places the selfie in a multifocal landscape. Reconsidering a few suggestions of Agamben and Deleuze, the discussion will focus in particular upon the question of subjectivity or de-subjectivity of the persons portrayed and of the those who use the images through mobile devices and social networks.

Abstract
The present text analyses Ellen Degeneres' viral selfie shot during this year's Academy Awards, examining the role played by the mobile devices to develop a complex and articulate discursive field. Such a field is not only a result of transmedia processes but also of filmophanic, diegetic, and iconic-configurative dynamics that places the selfie in a multifocal landscape. Reconsidering a few suggestions of Agamben and Deleuze, the discussion will focus in particular upon the question of subjectivity or de-subjectivity of the persons portrayed and of the those who use the images through mobile devices and social networks.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
