Les Juifs du Maroc, Internet et la naissance d'une diaspora numérique

In this article, I examine how the Internet and online interaction influence the Moroccan Jewish diaspora and the extent to which this is leading to the construction of a new diasporic community. Concentrating on the website Dafina, I try to understand who are its main users and which are the topics there discussed. Through a reading of messages from the forum of Dafina, I show how a new digital diaspora, which goes beyond the Moroccan Jewish diaspora strictly speaking, is emerging. Finally, I reflect on how the Internet can have an impact on the making of a diasporic identity and the consequences this might have.
