The article moves the focus from the fear of God - on which this number of the review insists - to the fear of existence, proposing to understand the latter in connection with the feeling of the Sublime. From this perspective courage is not simply fearlessness, but a way to transform fear into an open attitude towards life in this world. Plato, Hobbes and Kant are taken into consideration.
