Hydrocarboxylation of propene in the presence of PdCl2(PPh3)2-PPh3, and BuOH gave PrCO2Bu with a high regioselectivity. The crystal structure of trans-Pd(COPr)Cl(PPh3)2, the active catalytic species in the reaction, is detd. The isolation of this active catalytic species support the reaction mechanism occurring via alkene insertion into a Pd-H bond.

Abstract
Hydrocarboxylation of propene in the presence of PdCl2(PPh3)2-PPh3, and BuOH gave PrCO2Bu with a high regioselectivity. The crystal structure of trans-Pd(COPr)Cl(PPh3)2, the active catalytic species in the reaction, is detd. The isolation of this active catalytic species support the reaction mechanism occurring via alkene insertion into a Pd-H bond.File in questo prodotto:
