Scotland, Translation and Edwin Morgan’s Polyphonic Concerto of Voices

This article insists on Edwin Morgan's works and, in particular, on those poems which have insisted on wordplays, translation and intertextual strategies. Morgan is the major representative of a post-modern poetical technique which is unique in Great Britain and in Scotland too. His particular interest in translation and in giving voice to various characters and objects has allowed him to be not only one of the major poets of contemporary Scotland but his main bard (poet laureate) of a new nation after the introduction of the new Parliament.
