The germyl complex Os[Ge 3Cl 6(OH) 2]P 4 (1) [P = P(OEt) 3] was prepared by allowing dihydride OsH 2P 4 to react with GeCl 2·dioxane. Treatment of OsH 2P 4 with GeCl 2·dioxane and then with SnCl 2·2H 2O in ethanol yielded the mixed-ligand derivative Os[Ge 3Cl 6(OEt)(OH) 4](SnCl 3)P 4 (2).
