The promotion effect of a variety of inorganic oxides on the catalytic epoxidation of 1‐octene with hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by (cis‐Ph2PCH = CHPPh2)Pt(CF3)X (X = CH2Cl2, ·OH) in the liquid phase is reported. Catalysts were prepared either by mixing the oxides directly in the reaction medium or by impregnation of the oxides with the complexes prior to catalysis. A significant increase in the catalytic activity is obtained under certain experimental conditions and this is interpreted as a cooperation effect taking place at the interface between solid support and solution. Abstract
