Profili degli insegnamenti di contabilità e amministrazione delle aziende pubbliche nella Scuola Veneziana dalle origini alla prima metà del XX secolo

Since its origin, Venetian School of Accounting , particularly Professor Fabio Besta, dedicated a great attention to the public administration and to the study of the public accounting. The programme offered in Venice – first inside the general course of Ragioneria, and after in a specific course titled Public Accounting – was impressively rich, starting from an historical perspective and enriched by an European comparison of the best practice in Public accounting. In the subsequent years, such a complete and pervasive approach was lost and the Public accounting was studied also by other disciplines, with a strong legal perspective. It’s crucial that this important tradition offered by Fabio Besta is now revitalized as the contingency situation of Public Administration shows some room for improvements and implantation of (old but) good principles.
