The management of dredged sediments is nowadays crucial for the coastal areas and for the growth of harbours, such as the port of Venice. In view of the necessity to dredge sediments in order to keep channels of navigation open, remediation and environmental recovery are of great consequence in harbour areas, since the sediments are sink and/or source of several organic and inorganic pollutants.
