One of the most interesting and less studied aspects of "magic" rituals of Graeco- Roman antiquity is the image-voice-writing relationship. This paper aims to highlights the variety and complexity of images occurring in the PGM not only in terms of graphics, but also as for what concerns the linguistic and conceptual level, in order to reflect on the role they play in the transmission of ritual knowledge and its encoding.
