"Der Untertan". Zur Genealogie des öffentlichen Körpers.

The work discusses Heinrich Mann's novel "Der Untertan" as a consequence of the author's interest for Friedrich Nietzsche and in particular, for the first time, for his critique of language, truth and authority, as it emerges in his early essay "Ueber Wahrheit und Lüge im außermoralischen Sinn", well-known to the writer. This approach allows to interprete bodies as surfaces on which political power becomes manifest and readable, whether we talk about the fragile loyal subject's body, or the monument celebrating the Emperor William I.
