The aim of this dissertation is to present a critical interpretation of Gentile’s claim that the becoming is the origin. I discuss this position commencing with the question whether it is even possible to consider the becoming in these terms and examining the possibility of rigorously conceiving a philosophy of immanence. This study has as its starting point certain historical interpretations of the becoming, re-read through Gentile’s eyes. It is divided into three Parts in which I collect the data I consider necessary in order to consider the becoming as original, as understood by Gentile. The first Part deals with the becoming in three phases of the history of philosophy: ancient, medieval and humanistic-renaissance. In the second Part I look at the relationship between the becoming as seen by Gentile and idealism, with particular reference to Hegel, Marx and Spaventa. In the third Part I directly address Gentile and the texts in which he sets out his concept of dialectic, and then I analyze the critical position of Gustavo Bontadini and others regarding the becoming as seen by Gentile. Finally in my conclusion I will try to define the matter in strictly theoretical terms, attempting to show how the origin can only be considered immobile.

Abstract
Finally in my conclusion I will try to define the matter in strictly theoretical terms, attempting to show how the origin can only be considered immobile.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
