The artist Battista Zelotti (1526-1578) is seen and studied in the aim at outpace his traditional role of villas frescoes painter. Thanks to an archive research it has been possible to collect informations about his beginnings in Verona, his early works in Venice, the decoration of the library in Praglia Abbey. The finding of these new documents can enlighten many aspects of the relationship between the artist and his employer and provide a new historical and cultural perspective.

Abstract
The artist Battista Zelotti (1526-1578) is seen and studied in the aim at outpace his traditional role of villas frescoes painter.
