This work is about the analysis of modernity and interrogations concerning the different roles of religion in western societies according to the canadian philosopher Charles Taylor. Though keeping the concept of secularization, the philosopher develops his meaning through a new idea of religion that actually finds expression in the pluralism of faith experiences. The author overemphasizes the importance of christian spirituality in the creation of modern identity and integrates the historical reconstruction with the new role of religion in society.Taylor's investigation about the relationship between modernity and christianism also includes the defence of the integration of their moral codes based on the idea of a modern identity realization opened to trascendence.
