This contribution presents an Italian translation from Tibetan of Geshe Langri Thangpa’s The Eight Verses of Mind Training, one of the best-known texts of the Tibetan Buddhist lojong tradition. The eight verses offer concise instructions for cultivating altruism, humility, vigilance toward afflictive mental states, patience in difficult interpersonal situations, and the reversal of habitual self-centred attitudes. The text culminates in practices of giving and taking and in an understanding of phenomena as illusory, linking the cultivation of bodhicitta with insight into the nature of reality. The translation is based directly on the Tibetan text and is presented alongside the original.
