This introduction presents Kyabje Chöden Rinpoche and his Guida al [testo] Separarsi dai quattro attaccamenti composto da Jetsün Dragpa Gyaltsen. It examines the structure and distinctive features of the commentary, highlighting the way in which Chöden Rinpoche relates the Sakya teaching of “Parting from the Four Attachments” to Gelug presentations of the Buddhist path, including the three principal aspects of the path and the lamrim framework. Particular attention is devoted to the organization and oral character of the source text, its treatment of renunciation, bodhicitta and correct view, and the editorial, philological and terminological choices adopted in translating the Tibetan text into Italian.
