Introduzione [a Lojong. L’addestramento mentale. Volume 2]

This introduction provides a historical, doctrinal, and stylistic overview of the Tibetan Buddhist literary genre of lojong (“mind training”). It traces its emergence within the Kadam tradition, its relationship with Indian Mahāyāna sources, and its emphasis on bodhicitta, altruistic transformation, and practices such as tonglen. It also examines the transmission and transformation of lojong across Tibetan Buddhist schools and in contemporary Western contexts, discussing both its potential and the risks of psychological reductionism. The final section introduces the texts collected in the volume, with particular attention to the Sakya tradition of “Parting from the Four Attachments.”
