This chapter explores the ways in which cloud-based services have been used for collaborative audiovisual translation, with a focus on the dubbing industry. During the Covid-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2022, the practice of cloud dubbing has gained impetus. The first lockdown in Italy heavily impacted the activity of dubbing studios, which were initially closed and then severely restricted in their use. Therefore, dubbing projects needed to be managed remotely. The chapter reviews the main features of cloud dubbing, from both the technical and human perspective, but also analyses the new challenges it poses, from the quality of translation/adaptation to more ethical issues.
