Its focus lies on the transcendence and immanence of space, and the unilinearity and endogeneity of time. The present paper discusses the latter. It then explores new developments in contemporary concepts of time and space, characterized by multiplicity and multiscalarity. Based on this renewed understanding of time and space, the paper points to the development of Global Area Studies.
