This volume explores the relationship between material culture and memory through the study and restoration of more than 2,100 Roman fragments of painted plaster and stucco discovered at Altinum in archaeological excavations leaded by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and dated between the 1st and 3rd centuries CE. Brought to light through two restoration campaigns conducted by the Istituto Veneto per i Beni Culturali, the project combines conservation practice, archaeological research, and engagement with ancient literary sources.
