Cafoscari Jisho 2024 is a free online Japanese–Italian dictionary designed as a web application with both front-end and back-end components. The system also includes native mobile applications for Android and iOS, providing users with accessible dictionary functions across desktop and mobile platforms. To improve the efficiency and consistency of editorial work within jisho.unive.it, several new back-office features were implemented: Advanced Entry Management Interface: A structured dashboard for creating, editing, and reviewing dictionary entries, with version control and change tracking to ensure transparency and accountability. Collaborative Editing Tools: Multi-user editing with role-based permissions (e.g., editor, reviewer, administrator), allowing parallel workflows and reducing bottlenecks in content validation. Automated Validation and Consistency Checks: Built-in linguistic and formatting validation (e.g., kana/kanji alignment, part-of-speech tagging, duplication detection) to minimize human error and maintain data uniformity. Integrated Corpus and Example Management: Tools for linking entries to example sentences and corpora, with tagging and search functionalities to facilitate reuse and consistency across entries.
