The history of relations between Polish and Czech academics in the field of Oriental studies has so far been addressed in only a limited number of individual works; however, a substantial portion of archival materials concerning the first half of the 20th century remains unpublished. In recent years, remarkable and long-forgotten texts by the Czech Assyriologist and Hittitologist Bedřich Hrozný have been rediscovered in his literary estate, alongside extensive correspondence with prominent Polish Orientalists. This article highlights those parts of the correspondence that relate specifically to Anatolian archaeology and philology.
