The essay aims to approach John Dewey’s reflections on the issues of values and valuation by reframing them in the context of his social philosophy and account of human experience. I will contend that Dewey’s analysis of the social world and naturalistic account of human experience are essential to fully grasp the social and critical task of his theory of values and valuation, identify the distinctive traits of his conception of human values and valuation, and question a series of theoretical dualisms and assumptions that cross the history of moral philosophy.

Abstract
The essay aims to approach John Dewey’s reflections on the issues of values and valuation by reframing them in the context of his social philosophy and account of human experience. I will contend that Dewey’s analysis of the social world and naturalistic account of human experience are essential to fully grasp the social and critical task of his theory of values and valuation, identify the distinctive traits of his conception of human values and valuation, and question a series of theoretical dualisms and assumptions that cross the history of moral philosophy.File in questo prodotto:
