This paper reconstructs Sartre’s conception of intersubjectivity and the foundational strategies employed to establish it. After examining the attempts made by Husserl, Hegel and Heidegger, and pointing out their limitations, Sartre identifies the gaze—and in particular the experience of being looked at—as the point at which otherness becomes immediately evident in its capacity as a subject rather than an object to be interpreted.

Abstract
This paper reconstructs Sartre’s conception of intersubjectivity and the foundational strategies employed to establish it. After examining the attempts made by Husserl, Hegel and Heidegger, and pointing out their limitations, Sartre identifies the gaze—and in particular the experience of being looked at—as the point at which otherness becomes immediately evident in its capacity as a subject rather than an object to be interpreted.File in questo prodotto:
