„Kann denn ʹne Frau so was?“ Studien zu Gerlind Reinshagen

The writer Gerlind Reinshagen has published radio plays, theatre plays, novels and poetry, has been published by Suhrkamp Verlag and performed on all the major stages – and yet today she is underrepresented both in theatre and in literary studies. Reinshagen established herself in the late 1960s and 1970s with her own theatrical style, which picked up on the stage trends of her time yet remained unique. Despite her presence in the 1970s and 1980s and her continuous dramatic output, her success did not continue in the same way in the 1990s – an aspect that raises the question of how generational differences or the fast-paced theatre industry may have prevented her from achieving greater visibility. The contributions to Reinshagen's work in this volume shed light on all of the author's genres, but especially her plays. Reinshagen's examination of the world of work, gender constructions, illness, history, dystopia and intertextuality offers a variety of starting points for a new reading of her work today.
