Parole per includere/parole per escludere: hate speech, sport e comunicazione interculturale.

This paper explores hate speech in sports, focusing in particular on hate speech triggered by ethnic/national reasons. Specifically, the contribution presents the results of a survey carried out as part as an Erasmus+ project, RIGHTS, investigating episodes of racism and intolerance in sport and ways to prevent them. Our paper shows how the development of an intercultural communicative competence can facilitate the dialogue with “the other”, overcoming prejudices and stereotypes, also in the sport environment.
