This paper concerns the digital elaboration of the model of Grado 1 shipwreck, excavated from 1989 to 1999, based on archival documentation. Thanks to an initial reconstruction of the vessel and its cargo of amphorae in situ and the identification of the original hull lines, it was possible to reconstruct a hypothetical model of the Roman ship. To this end, digital software was used to analyse and study the cargo distribution, as well as to determine the weight of the vessel and its cargo. These hydrostatic calculations allow for estimates of tonnage and stability conditions, permitting a comprehensive study of Grado 1 ship and maritime transport in the mid-2nd century AD.
