Casanova in viaggio. Porti e approdi dall’Adriatico al Levante: Trieste, l’Istria, Fiume e la Dalmazia tells the story of a young Venetian, not yet an adventurer nor even a writer, who sailed the Adriatic in the mid- 18th century en route to Constantinople or who crossed it towards the coasts of the Marche and Puglia on his way to other destinations. In his old age Casanova struggled to reconstruct these journeys, because they were only recorded in his memory, and so reality and fiction were often blurred.
