After a first part dedicated to the study and discussion of Leopardi's theoresis - which we can summarise here by borrowing Tilgher's words, ‘a metaphysical drama’ in which ‘the two antagonists’ are ‘nature’ and ‘reason’ - and Giovanni Gentile's reading of it, the research continued with the analysis of the role that the two assets of the prospective focus of research, the concept of “matter” and that of ‘death’, play in Gentile's current idealism: nothingness, the abstract abstractly conceived, but equally the abstract concretely conceived, the very life of the concrete. After which the study continued on Martin Heidegger, first of all considering the circumstance whereby philosophical readings of Leopardi, in the 1920s and 1930s, linked the figure of Gentile to that of Leopardi in various ways - and for various reasons, first and foremost political - and the figure of Leopardi to that of Heidegger - we cite only Amelotti in this regard. But it is not only extrinsic reasons that link the three authors; it is the thing itself, the logic of the discourse around the matter/death diptych that brings Leopardi into dialogue with Gentile and Heidegger: to show this is the purpose of this work.

Abstract
But it is not only extrinsic reasons that link the three authors; it is the thing itself, the logic of the discourse around the matter/death diptych that brings Leopardi into dialogue with Gentile and Heidegger: to show this is the purpose of this work.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
