This paper examines the profiles of female leaders with the aim of identifying and showcasing concrete examples that support female leadership. Specifically, through the use of the Behavioral Event Interview technique, we collected narratives about situations of professional effectiveness of 41 women who are either entrepreneurs or managers. The study focuses on the behavioral skills and leadership styles that have enabled these women to succeed in their careers. The results show the prevalence of the behavioral skill ‘self-awareness’ and the ‘supportive’ leadership style.
