Dopisy Bedřicha Hrozného literárním osobnostem

The work of Bedřich Hrozný, a prominent Orientalist who deciphered the Hittite language, has been the subject of numerous works, both academic and aimed at a wider public. The body of our knowledge on his life as summed up by his pupil Lubor Matouš, however, has up to now been obtained exclusively from official documents or facts contained in Bedřich Hrozný’s published memoir. This volume presents for the first time an entirely new set of facts from his correspondence, placing this scholar’s life story in new and largely unknown contexts. This volume brings forth a compact mass of material taken from the literary archive of the Museum of Czech Literature, where Hrozný’s letters addressed to other researchers, colleagues, friends and acquaintances have been preserved as part of the inheritance of their recipients.
