Pere Gimferrer and cinema: between Hollywood and Iberian cinema Avant-garde

The aim of this article is to review Pere Gimferrer’s theoretical essay written in Spanish , Cine y literature , p aying special attention to the author’s vision on Iberian cinema. T he combination of film (image based art) and literature (word based art) i s essentially for Pere Gimferrer, a dual experience. Cine y literature is perhaps one of the least studied works of the Barcelonan poet, even though he has already published three different editions . In this re - working process, that has last ed some 30 years, aside from the notorious affection Gimferrer had towards film, the writer’s personal interest emerges as the main idea of the book, that is , the fertile relationship between word and image that is manifested in literature and cinema.
