This paper focuses on some morphosyntatic irregularities found in the Latin legal documents from Cava dei Tirreni (9th century). It analyses non-congruent agreements between first person singular pronouns and first person plural verbs and tries to provide some possible interpretations of these constructions. Particular attention is given to the influence of textual and extratextual factors. The aim is to verify whether the disagreements can be linked with particular forms of bureaucratic language and can be used as indicators of the stylistic level of the documents and the linguistic abilities of the notarii.
