Perspectives on Wittgenstein’s "Philosophical Investigations"

This special issue brings together 14 essays by international scholars on Wittgenstein’s "Philosophical Investigations". Rather than attempting what is arguably an impossible comprehensive assessment of seventy years of philosophical engagement with the "Philosophical Investigations", its aim is to provide space for a diverse range of voices and perspectives on the work. The editors have deliberately avoided endorsing any particular line of interpretation or adhering to rigid “orthodoxies”, seeking instead to reflect the plurality of approaches the "Philosophical Investigations" has inspired over the decades. The resulting collection, they believe, makes a valuable contribution to a deeper understanding of the "Philosophical Investigations" and of the philosophy of the so-called later Wittgenstein.
